As part of MECE09029: Computer Aided Engineering 3, I reverse engineered and modeled a Formula One quick release mechanism and steering wheel.
The course served to familiarize students with different tools in Solid Edge including: parametric modeling, assemblies, finite elements, optimization, curves and surfaces, direct/synchronous modeling, standard parts, rendering and animation, and drawings. This class culminated in a final report evaluating Solid Edge CAD tools and showcasing our quick release mechanisms.
I received a 77 (A3) for my quick release model and CAD report. Highlights of the model can be seen at this link.
